LeEco Launched Le1s at Rs.10999 : A Good Phone with Great Features

LeEco, a company previously known for T.V. Manufacturing, now enters one of the most competitive markets, i.e. the handset market with a new name as LeEco in India. The device is brilliantly priced and can give Lenovo k4 Note a pretty tough competition in terms of specs and design.

Design

It has a pretty slim body that is made up of an aviation grade aluminium and weighs around 169 grams and has the following Body dimensions (151.10×74.20×7.50). The design has been kept unique keeping in view other internationally branded phones, but is quite similar to other Chinese phones.

Display

It has a 5.5-inch screen with full HD (1080×1920) display and a scanner that the company claims is the first of its kind, a mirrored scratchproof scanner. Apart from these it has a multi-touch capacity of 10 points and 400 pixels per inch. The rear part of the devise houses a fingerprint sensor.

Technical

Coming to the technical side of this phone, it has an amazing 3000 mAh battery which definitely cannot be ignored as most of the phones lack such a powerful battery. It sports a decent 3GB RAM, which also is remarkable and has a storage of 32GB. It has a clean user interface and runs the Android’s lollipop 5.1.1 version.

Under the hood we get to see a powerful 2.2 GHz Octa-core processor from MediaTek Helios and is supports dual SIM i.e. SIM1: Micro and SIM2: Nano.

Camera

The device supports a 13 megapixel rear camera and the front facing camera is of 5 megapixels. The device comes with a flash light at the rear and has a face detection autofocus, slow motion video recording is another added feature. The picture quality is not very much satisfactory as the pictures were not up to the mark.

Connectivity

Now coming to the connectivity side, it has a 3.5mm headphones jack on the top and the speakers have been placed beside the charging point at the bottom. It supports all the prominent gsm bands, also the WCDMA band that is used for 3G connectivity and LTE bands including 1800, 1900, 2100 and 2300 bands.

Connections that are missing are NFC, USB OTG, Band 40 and the second SIM lacks both 3G and 4G/LTE support. So don’t be fooled by the company’s connectivity features claim.

The phone comes in golden colour and has been priced at Rs.10999 and available exclusively on Flipkart.

Conclusion

The company has been comparing its phones with the iPhone 6s and 6s plus during its launch events in India and we can see that from the slow motion video recording feature that it has inherited from them. The negative side that we see here are, a missing expandable memory card slot, a professional camera mode, NFC, 3G and 4G/ LTE connectivity for the second SIM.

Overall, it’s a good phone when it comes to its performance, 3.5 hours of battery juice in 5 minutes of charging and pricing, but it could have been better if there was an expandable memory card slot.
