Building Games have been quite common on the app stores since long. Most of them tend to be on the Freemium model. Among the plethora of the games already available in the genre, the developers Supercell have tried to bring up the same tested formula in a modernised game. And the game is free to play. Boom Beach is the new game in the genre of building games that has been impatiently looked forward to.
Boom Beach – What exactly is it?
Boom Beach is actually a building game, as we already pointed out to you. Developed by Supercell, which has another most popular game under their belt – Clash of Clans, appears to have built the new game on the same lines as the Clash of Clans. Instead of using the medieval background, the game works on a modern premise. But, the gameplay always remains similar on both the games.
The design of the game remains simple and easy to follow. Boom Beach has been one of the most anticipated games in this year. The similarity with Clash of Clans can be one of the reasons for this high degree of anticipation. One of the prime differences between Clash of Clans and Boom Beach is the premise on which the wars are fought. More on that later.
Boom Beach – The Gameplay
As we stated before, the gameplay is almost akin to that on Clash of Clans. The premise of the game is much interesting. You, as a player, are expected to be the commander of an army. There is an archipelago that has been occupied the evil army of BlackGuard. The army has enslaved the locals.
You need to build an army and train them. Later, you fight with the army of the BlackGuard to take back the area occupied by bad guys. From the fighting point of view, the game is completely similar to that on Clash of Clans. There is a difference though. Unlike in Clash of Clans where the fight takes place single soldiers, Boom Beach has more of a natural premise. You use squads of army which in turn fight with the evil forces.
It employs a slower game play in a sharp contrast to Clash of Clans. Buildings can be built and upgraded in a slower rate, so also the creation of army. That would mean, you may not continuously play the game.
The major features of Boom Beach
The game has been making a lot of noise, the resemblance to Clash of Clans and the popularity of the developers can be one of the reasons that would tilt the popularity.
Some of the features that can be described include
- The RTS Gameplay – Boom Beach comes under the genre represented by Clash of the Clans and such games in its ilk. Te Real Time Strategy component of the game makes this one the best options we can choose from.
- Best of both worlds – Boom Beach conforms both to the offensive and defensive style of battling. So, no matter what kind of player you are, the game will definitely suit you.
- Storyboard – Boom Beach does not come with much of the gameplay. That it appear quite logical. It pays more of an impetus on tower defence eco system.
- Efficient Multiplayer Modes – As long as the multiplayer mode is concerned, the Boom Beac h presents a perfect shot of multiplayer capabilities.
- Graphics – The game boasts of some great deal of graphics integrated within the game. Agreed, the game does not rely too much on the graphics, but still it gives a refreshing look to the game.
Is there much of a difference between the Clash of Clans and Boom Beach?
Well, being developed by the same developer, both the games are bound to look almost similar. However, playing the game for a considerably longer time will make you realise that there is much more to the Boom Beach than on Clash Of Clans.
There is a huge difference between the Clash of Clans and Boom Beach. The style of the game remains similar, but what sets the former apart from the latter is the ambience. Clash of Clans comes with a intimidating kind of feeling. Boom Beach, on the other hand, comes with a lot of fun elements.
Another point that we liked with respect to Boom Beach is the existence of a consistent game play. Clash of Clans is where you make in app purchases and go ahead with the game. In fact, if you are really willing to, you need not pay even a single penny to play the game.
What made us fall in love with the game?
Boom Beach is a game that focuses on the actual combat. And that does not need much of customisation either. Even when it is a game that comes under the Freemium Category, the best part with the Boom Beach is it does not force you to use the in-app purchases.
As for the children, we do not think there should be any issues associated with the game. If you are a worried parent, given the violent nature of the game – nothing to be worried here. The game does come with its own deal of violence and fight with guns, mortars and such other weapons, yet the it is not overly. It should be clearly seen with the lack of blood when any character within the game dies.
However, there is something we are not happy with. The game does not come with the social interaction. You might have seen the feature on Clash of Clans wherein you could have a chat with the enemies or co players. We would hope to see the feature added soon.
Where to get the game from?
Boom Beach is available both on Android and iOS. Developed by Supercell, you can definitely opt for the game. It is free to play.
If you are on Android, you can get the game from

On iOS, the game is available on
[wpi_designer_button text=’Download From App Store’ link=’https://itunes.apple.com/in/app/boom-beach/id672150402?mt=8′ target=’_blank’ rel=”nofollow”]
The game does come with in –app purchases. Even then, what makes it a good game is the in-app purchases are not promoted unnecessarily. In fact, we do not think you will need any of those additional purchases to play the game efficiently. If you are a patient player enough, there would be no need to opt for any of those in –app purchases.
The Final Thoughts
Boom Beach is a game that excels with its game play and simple interface. It has a good feature – however, slower gameplay can be dampener in many cases. We would consider it to have a great potential and expect it to become one of the best games quite soon.
The mix up of levels does not bring up any improvement. The game feels quite repetitive after a few rounds initially. However, we would still look forward to the improved functionality. If you are fan of the genre, you can try it out and share your views here.
